When you think about having kids (even if it's in the distant future), of course things pop into your head like you want to give them the best life possible and hope that they’re healthy and don’t end up living in a cardboard box on the Bowery, etc., but you also want them to think you were cool, right? Like, if they ever decide to raid your closet for hand-me-downs, they’ll find something really special that makes them go, “Damn, my mom was hot shit back in the day.”
Jervoise Jackets will do the trick. Fittingly, these gorgeous bespoke embroidered denim jackets, vests and shirts started as a project between London-based Zoe Graham, a.k.a., Zoe Jervoise, and her mother, who was a free-spirited youth herself. Zoe sources vintage denim and then the two of them hand sew the wildest, most intricate, and trippy tapestries of their original design onto the backs.
The line has picked up a cult following of musicians, including Coco Sumner, Marina Diamandis of Marina And The Diamonds, as well as One Night Only front man/attractive bloke from the Burberry campaign, George Craig. Zoe is even doing T-shirts for the latter two acts. Her fans and friends contribute to her collection, too, like with these photos taken by pal Max Knight featuring Craig and actress Imogen Poots.“I think my designs are going to become more and more inspired by the Aztec art,” Ms. Jervoise says of her vision for the future.
