Langham Yangtze Hotel Shanghai Is Authentic And Rad

You actually feel like you're in China, which is good

We're all about authentic shit so on our recent trip to Shanghai (and we know you're going soon for the World Expo, right?) we stayed at Langham Yangtze boutique hotel. It's centrally located in People's Square, conveniently distant from all the other five-star hotels on the Bund, so you actually feel like you're in China and not some hub of American chain hotels. What's cool about the Langham is that it was originally built in 1934 and they preserved all the art deco swimmingly. Antique pieces adorn the hallways (like vintage handbags, fur coats, mirrors) and most of the 96 rooms have private terraces (a rarity in Shanghai). The employees are super-attentive (the women wear these adorable traditional Chinese silk dresses and look like China dolls), which we love, love, love and the Chuan spa is also super-amazing. Like our massage was so good it made us blush. Take from that what you will!!!
