Voodoo Doughnuts Means We Could Possibly Move To Portland

It's one of those super-indie places with a ton of bikes parked outside

You know how at the end of the night in New York City, you wanna grab a slice or like, another beer at 3am before heading home? Well, things are different in Portland, Oregon. When we’re done for the night, we’re actually really not, so we do as the locals and head to Voodoo Doughnuts.

We love the fact this super-indie city that thrives on biking, the environment and MusicFest is all about farm-to-table food and believe us, we eat the F out of it considering it’s fresh and all. But the dark side in us comes out at night. Call it True Blood sugar rush or whatever but Voodoo Doughnuts is quite the institution and we’re all about our sugar high. The 24-hour doughnut shop is tiny, like a morsel, and frequented by sweet-tooth hipsters and such (we should mention the number of bikes parked outside at any given hour).

What’s so delicious about this place is that the doughnuts are crazy different you won’t find at your typical doughnut store, like the Maple Bacon doughnut, which is maple-glazed with bacon strips on top. There’s even a Cock-n-Balls (um, our favorite... don’t judge), which is triple-cream filled. Yeah, we know, but somebody stop us! It's like getting glamoured by doughnuts. If that’s possible. And we're suckers.
